In January of 2024, we made the decision to pension Sparky (Declaration). While he may not have enjoyed that decision – what breeding stallion would! – it was the best choice for him in his later years. We were not looking for a new stallion, but Red Rose Frosty, with Triple S lines we love, happened to be for sale. It wasn’t the right time, no matter which way we tried to figure it out, to our disappointment.
Jen thought of him often during the year, and in November, he popped up as available again due to his owner’s changed circumstances. There was NO way we were letting him go this time, and on November 23rd, Jen drove west to pick up a stallion she had somehow managed to fall in love with from photos and video alone.
Turns out is is impossible NOT to fall in love with Frosty! He is a very special stallion – conformation, temperament, some super lines, and for those who like color, he comes by his name honestly as a cremello! We are so excited for our adventures with this wonderful horse, and to meet his future foals!
