We kicked off our 2025 season early this year, despite a VERY cold winter. Zipper (along with Jimmy) got her schooling in regardless though, on our first trip to Aiken in February, and she was ready for the Loch Moy March Derby! Although we failed in the “go green” St. Patrick’s Day theme of the show, we still had a great time. This was Zipper’s first Derby, and she loved it, earning a lovely yellow third place ribbon in intro.
Sheldon has been working hard all winter with his best friend Matilda, and this was his first Derby as well! He and Matilda had a great go for an awesome sixth place in the junior starter division.
Matilda and Sheldon kept their momentum going right into CDCTA’s April Horse Trials, Sheldon’s first HT. Matilda did an excellent job showing him the way of putting all three phases together, and they rocked their way around the junior starter division, bringing home a seventh place ribbon for Sheldon’s first recognized! A purple seventh does match Matilda’s XC colors, too!
We are looking forward to this season’s eventing fun for both Zipper and Sheldon!
