Spring Dressage Shows

After our great trip to Aiken, we were ready to show a little bit earlier than normal – one of the main reasons we wanted to go to South Carolina to jump start our season! With Jimmy still getting fit again, the spotlight was on Zipper, and she was an absolute rock star all spring!

Zipper (Battersea Zipper) kicked off the season at Loch Moy’s Spring Dressage Festival. This was Jen’s first show since USDF Region 1 finals in 2022, thanks to back surgery and a long rehab. So this was an extra special show! Zipper absolutely delivered, with two great tests at a very busy, large facility. For their first show together, Zipper had a solid 69.68% in Intro B, and a great 72.5% for Intro A, earning blue ribbons for both tests. It was a very happy day!

Jen and Zipper also went to CDCTA’s evening schooling show, repeating their scores (backwards this time), with a 69.5% in Intro A, and a 72.5% in Intro B, for another pair of blue ribbons.

It has been a great, confidence building start to the show season, and we could not be more proud of Zipper! When Jimmy had to take some time off, she stepped right up into the role of Jen’s main riding partner, and we think she loves her job – and the show ring!
